Stitch Work, Our Respect the Cashmere Ethos

In knitting and creating sweaters, it requires that a stitch is selected - It is a finishing techniques to give form and style to the garment. With our cashmere and cashmere blended we remember to make the yarn the star of the show. Sometimes a stitch can take away the hand-feel of the yarn. Your fingers should flow nicely on the front side of the stitch. Jersey is usually the best stitch for having the best surface feel. Tension on the knitting machine may also effect this, but most of the time jersey is the best. There are a number of stitches to be utilized, so keep this in mind.

We at Jonathan Kringle have adopted a mantra of "respect the cashmere", meaning that we will also respect the yarn by ensuring your sweater / knitted garment will have a great hand-feel. They yarn is the foundation of our design. Of course some yarns we use are selected for their purpose such as our Yak and Cashmere Blends, with these yarns we look to keep the wearer warm and properly insulated - Enjoy regularly!

JK Logo, Jonathan Kringle Brand

When it comes to branding, we at Jonathan Kringle believe it is important to have inconspicuous methods to identify our brand and our garments we produce. Also as a means of protection from other clothing brands out there.

Be sure to look out for JK, <the initials for the Jonathan Kringle> mini script logo embroidery easily found on most of our clothing. Some of our signature identifiers are the use of our specially selected cashmere and cashmere blended yarns and their origins and twsiting processes, we won't get into the details. With our guarantee and quality production, sometimes we will re-enforce certain areas of the sweaters that get the most wear, see some of the images to be familiar with our cover-stitch placements.

The couple can look the part and match without all the funny corny ways from the past. Be sure to check out the collections and pick a style for you and her, because one's garments should compliment the other. Coordinate, match, but don't look like it it is on purpose -

Our JK Cashmere Yak Blends

Yak wool is warmer than merino, as soft as cashmere and as tough as camel, and so has made a welcome addition to a marketplace in a means to conserve cashmere fibers, animal overgrazing and environmental challenges. We at Jonathan Kringle are keenly aware of the global issues surrounding the cashmere and luxury products. Our contribution to combat this is the introduction of yak fiber to the collection, our yarn consists of a blend 70% Yak/30% Cashmere in a count of 2/18's Nm.. With a diameter of 15-20 microns, it is comparable to cashmere in softness while being 10-15% warmer than merino wool.

For the Yak, their thick coats provide crucial defense against the harsh climate. Descriptions of a yak's coat read like tags on technical apparel, with multiple protective layers each playing a role. The coarse, slick outer coat can stay on year-round, repelling moisture and ultraviolet rays, while an exceptionally fine, crimped undercoat of down provides insulation in winter. A mid range layer fills in the gaps and—like the outer coat—includes some fibers with insulating hollow cores. Natural breath-ability helps the body regulate its heat, keeping the wearer warm in the cold and cooler when temperatures rise.

Cashmere, the tricky little fiber

Cashmere is a tricky little fiber, with it’s long staple and an extra thin micron level, not to mention it’s cost, we are extra careful and use it efficiently. Most of our cashmere styles respect this precious fiber and yarn. Jonathan Kringle doesn’t want to alter or take away from its soft and smooth hand feel, so we implement simple jersey-like stitches in order to retain this luxurious feel. We aim to modify and take styles to the next level, yet sometimes we must be a bit conservative.
